The lens’ optics features 10 elements in 8 groups that are treated with a multi-layer high permeability coating, which helps reduce reflections and improve image quality. With a minimum focus distance of 7.9″, the lens allows you to get relatively close to your subjects despite the wide frame. Both the manual and aperture rings are grooved to improve grip and are complemented by an engraved depth of field scale for easy operation. On the front, a built-in petal-type lens hood helps reduce the amount of flares. An optional adapter with a 77mm front filter thread allows you to mount a wide variety of filters.
